Aryn territory, before the quake.
Mid-summer

Kane
It was midday in Aryn, and the sun was shining bright on the land. Kane was near the main den, and was ready for a training with a new member of the pack. Kane felt proud to be a Gamma, and he knew that he was aiming for becoming a Beta as well. Training someone else was going to be a challenge, seeing as he had never trained anyone before. This was his first test, and he stood and waited for the new member to come to the den.

Leto
It had been rumored briefly between he and his brother that someone had already been lined up to show him the basic ropes of what it meant to be a Warden. The task was something Leto had flirted with upon coming to Aryn's main den, though it wasn't set in stone until Taras had sat him down and told him to go for it. Which is how the charcoal wolf found himself rising early morning to prepare himself for whatever lay ahead, and by noon he'd ventured out from the grassy area by the main den to peer up at a wolf who seemed to be guarding the cliffside with little interest on moving. "Hey, ah- sir." Leto called, the grass below his toes crinkling from the dry sun.

"I don't much care for sleeping in the main den, so if you're looking for me... I'm down here.

Kane
Kane waited for just a little longer, and then heard the call of a voice that he had never heard before. He looked down, to notice a wolf calling out to him. It was obvious that this wolf had to be the wolf Kane was going to train. Kane then walked down towards the other wolf, and soon dipped his head."Greetings, I am Kane, Gamma Warden of Aryn. What's your name?" Kane's tail was wagging in happiness at meeting a new member of Aryn, but he still tried to look stoic and responsible. Being a Gamma meant that Kane was going to have a lot more responsibilities than before, but that didn't mean he couldn't be excited for someone."Are you ready for your training?"

Leto
Kane. The name rolled around on the tip of the dark wolf's tongue, Kane's pale features and reddish-brown accents something he'd rarely seen before coming to the North. Down in the Monarchy wolves were of similar dark hues, most differing shades of deep browns or ghoulish grays. Here it seemed as though life came from all corners, and for lack of a better word, it was different.

"Leto," the stark wolf replied smoothly and though his tail didn't sway, the tip twitched just slightly as he offered a resolved smile back towards the other. "I believe so- unless you've been waiting for some other Warden?" He laughed, brows raising delicately.

Kane
Kane dipped his head in greeting as the wolf introduced himself as Leto. He chuckled as the other asked jokingly if there was anyone else joining them."Nope, just you and me today." Kane then lead Leto to a spot where he had trained many times with Alcatraz. This time though, he was the teacher."Okay, I want to help you with a special kind of training, and that training involves taking down other wolves. Especially since many wolves might be bigger than yourself." He then took a few steps back from Leto, and got himself ready."Let's see how you do first try. Try to knock me down."

Leto
A hum rolled off of Leto's tongue at the way Kane moved from a simple greeting to direct training, the proficiency something Leto was rather unused to considering the way even the smallest of decisions took months back in the Old Way. "I'm not that small," he laughed, brows rising gently as he moved out to follow the Gamma towards what looked like a clear patch of ground with an old tree. It was nice. Plain but nice.

The raven paused and let his head turn when Kane stopped following, the words reaching his ears easily as he moved back to face the other. Leto nodded short and sweet, then took a moment to assess the other male's form. Large, bulky, built like a shithouse. His weight would allow for a heavy fall if he got the right footing, but the chances of doing that the first time with a skilled wolf... Leto rolled his shoulders and charged. No harm in trying, I suppose.

He couldn't get leverage from the ground, so instead the stark wolf lunged up and used his bodyweight to slam upwards, muscles tensing and paws pressing to both Kane's neck and ribs to bull him sideways. A move he'd tried only once or twice, but on smaller wolves. When he was, well, a child.

Kane
Kane stood still as he waited for Leto's attempt to knock him over. He then felt the sudden attack from Leto, feeling his paws trying to wrap around his chest and neck. The force from the attack was pushing Kane to the side, but it wasn't pushing Kane down to the ground. Kane started getting pushed in a circle, but Leto was still not putting Kane to the ground. Kane tried to think of something while he was being pushed in a circle. He didn't want to be harsh, but he wanted to try and explain why this was not a good way. An idea sparked in his head, and he then turned his head towards Leto."Okay Leto, that's enough." He then took a step back, and tried to show Leto something helpful."Your move was good, but I wouldn't recommend it in that situation. If I was weakened, or injured, then that move would work."

Kane then got closer to Leto, to try and show him what to do in the certain situation."If your opponent is not injured, you need to pin him, and the best way to do that is to take out their legs. One way is you use your shoulder, and push down and forward on them." Kane then did this slowly on Leto, to give him an idea of what he meant.""Do this, and you'll knock over any larger wolf'

Leto
Despite his effort Leto knew he'd barely moved the much broader wolf more than a few inches from his previous spot. The sound of his trainer's voice fell on his ears and he moved, legs shifting to take hold of the solid ground below his feet. There was a bit of annoyance in his own expression, but it was more for the lack of power on his part rather than Kane's own ability to withstand it. That, and the gentleness of the other's tone was a new subject entirely for the dark wolf. He hummed to assure Kane that he was listening, head craning sideways ever so slightly to peer at the wolf as he demonstrated what was being said.

Granted, Leto wasn't exactly expecting the demonstration on him and so his body flopped sideways with the gracefulness of a fish out of water at Kane's pressure, but his otherwise bewildered expression broke into one of mild amusement. "But less gentle, right?" He replied, a laugh following suit. He shifted slightly so he could stand, the dirt that clung to his stark coat shedding itself once he righted himself upwards and did a gentle shake. "I think I understand," Leto murmured, a huff rolling from his jaws. "Once more on my part? I want to get it right at least once before we move on."

Kane
Kane was rather shocked at what he was able to do to Leto during his demonstration. He wanted to show him what to do, but didn't mean to send him falling to the ground. As Leto got up, Kane came over to Leto, and tried to brush off the dirt on his back, in a gesture of apologies towards the new member of Aryn."Less gentle yes, but more so on where you push on the other with force." Kane then took a step back at the other's request."The floor is all yours Leto." He then stood still, just like before, and waited for the male to knock him over.

Leto
A short laugh bubbled in the pit of Leto's stomach, brows raising at the gentle dust-off Kane did upon righting himself up. He wasn't concerned about the dirt, considering how lightly he'd hit the ground. But the charcoal wolf didn't dwell on it for much longer before a smirk flickered over his jaws, and what Kane had showed him just a moment ago was put to use. He'd used all of his bodyweight then to do as instructed and what was at first just a shove now ended up with Kane on his side, one of Leto's paws on his shoulder and the other snug in the dirt to keep him from flailing about.

Leto barked out a pleased laugh, stilling himself a moment before pulling back. "Now I see what you mean," he mused, brows high on his head.

Kane
Kane stood still as Leto used what he was taught. Leto did very well, and Kane noticed that Leto kept him from flailing about when he put Kane on his side. Kane could tell that Leto would be very skilled, and Kane was so glad to have him as a pack mate. "That was an excellent job Leto!" Kane then quickly got up, and wrapped his paws around Leto. His tail swished from side to side, as he snuggled Leto in joy for doing a good job."You're mighty good! You would be an excellent Warden!" He continued to snuggle Leto, with a happy grin on his face. He couldn't help it, he was always like this, even towards new friends.

Leto
Leto yelped in surprise at the sudden paws around his shoulders, the affection something he'd only ever gotten from his brother. It made his face tighten into an awkward little smile, face warm before he released a chuckle and ducked his head in a gesture of thanks. The praise was... nice. Different."Thank you," Leto replied, mostly to himself but loud enough that the other could hear. But after a short time Leto ducked away from the other, a laugh bubbling back up.

"A bit heavy to be leaning on me," he prompted shortly after, but there wasn't really any sign of discomfort in his gaze. Just delight. "Now ah... something else you can teach me? I'd like to know how to disarm a wolf if they get a grip me." Leto grinned, a renewed vigor in his chest. Maybe he actually had a shot at this.

Just maybe he could make it.

Kane
Kane held onto Leto for just a little longer, and then soon let go of his new friend. He thought about Leto's proposal, and an idea for a strategy came to mind. Kane took a few steps back from Leto, and smiled at the thought of it."Okay Leto, I'll show you how to take a wolf out, if they have you pinned to the ground, or if they grab you." Kane then started showing him the moves, feeling happy about it as he did so. He wanted to train for others now even more, now that he has gotten the hang of it. The sheer thought of being able to train others to defend themselves made it all the better for Kane as well.
