Chain Breaker Chapter 2

It was about seven in the evening, there was calm, soothing rain that was surrounding the area. A large house by the lake and the lights were bright piercing the darkness. A couple was enjoying their night together with their new family. Markus, a German shepherd, was a war hero, knighted by the King, and known to all who lived in Dikaios. His wife Angela, a Belgium Malinois, had just given birth to three children; a boy and two girls. The children were only a week old and were allowed to come home. They also had a human maid named Margaret, but she was considered part of the family. The children were sleeping by the side of Angela and Markus. Margaret then said, “So Markus, Angela, what are their names?” Markus then looked up and said, “Well we decided to name them….” Suddenly the door bell rang and the family jumped in shock. Angela said, “Are we expecting anybody tonight?” “We’re not supposed to be, I’ll go check.”
Markus then went to the front door. When he opened the door, nobody was there. Just a basket, but then a small noise came from the basket, he then took the blanket off and reveled what happened. There was a human baby and a wolf pup bundled together and sleeping. Markus then looked around to see if there was anybody around, but he could see no one in the darkness. He then tried to see if there were any clues in the basket with the children. The only other items in the basket were two dog tags. All that they said were two dates, but they were the same and said, “August 23, 2012.” That date was exactly three weeks before that night. “These must be their birthdays,” thought Markus.
He then grabbed the basket and took the children inside. “Markus was anybody out there,” said Angela. Walking up to her, Markus said, “Yeah but not in the way that I was expecting.” Angela and Margaret looked at him with confusion, and that’s when Markus put the basket down next to Angela and Margaret and revealed the two children. They gasped in shock and Angela quickly brought both of them closer to her to keep them warm. “The only information with them was dog tags that I’m guessing has their birthdays.” Then Angela made a quick discovery about who they were. “Markus, come look at their chests.” They noticed that there was a small tattoo on the chest of the human and a tattoo on the neck area of the wolf pup. Seeing this they knew where they came from. A tattoo given to a baby on the chest is a tradition of the nation of Mundus. Every family has a distinct tattoo design, but one thing that is set in stone is that a small tattoo is given when born, and the tattoo will be completed when the child reaches eighteen years old. Now Mundus was not a favorable country in the world. The country has started many wars and has occupied many cities for wealth and riches in the past. The nation of Dikaios has fought many wars against them. Recently Dikaios had just ended a war with them about year ago, and this is the same war that Markus was knighted for being a hero.
“What do you think we should do, Markus?” Angela was giving a concerned face when asking that question. Markus looked at the two children sleeping with their own children, then he smiled and looked up and said, “I think you know the answer, sweetie.” With a sigh of relief, Angela then looked at the two children and then said, “What names shall we give them?” Immediately Markus came close to her, lying next to her and the children, while the children were starting to fall asleep. He then whispered, “I think I have some good names for them.”
